Rotherham United Goalkeeper Andy Warrington says that it’s good that the team seem to be on a good run after winning three games on the bounce.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the former Doncaster Rovers shot stopper said, ‘I thought it was a big game for us on Saturday and I thought we had pretty much a dominant performance.

‘I think we’ve been a little bit up and down this season but we’ve got a strong squad so whoever has dropped out the ones who have come in have been more than capable of taking up those positions. And, if we get that consistency week-in and week-out we should be flying up the table.

‘I’ve gone on record as saying I wanted to play at the new stadium and last season it didn’t look like I was going to get that opportunity but this season things have turned round. Scott (Shearer) has been fantastic and I feel for him being out injured but it’s up to me to go in and prove that I deserve a run in the side.

Asked about how he’s feeling after starting those last three games, Andy said, ‘I’m just taking one game at a time but it’s going alright at the moment. The three performances have been really strong and the defence has been fantastic which has led me not to be called into action much.’

Speaking about Tony Thompson who has been on the bench for the last three games, Andy said, ‘He’s loving it. He’s joining in the training with the first team squad, travelling away with us which is giving him a really good experience. What I like about Tony is that he wants to learn and wants to put work in on the training ground and he’s got a fantastic attitude. He’s really sharp and his shot-stopping is second to none and the keenness he shows is a massive plus point.’

In the last three games Andy has kept two clean sheets and has also been named in the NPower League Two Team of the Week twice and you can’t really ask for much more from your ‘keeper can you?
