Rotherham United Manager Neil Warnock says his players keep surprising him.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the two-one home win against Leeds United, the Millers Boss said, ‘That was my kind of game with everything flying about and I really enjoyed it.

‘All credit to my players who keep surprising me.

‘The deflection was a sickner (for their equaliser) but the lads kept at it. Wardy (Danny Ward) chased a lost cause and what was Frecks (Lee Frecklington) doing in the box at that time of the game for the first! It`s fantastic what he`s done and a great piece of skill.

‘We go down to ten players each and we get a penalty. It was a great result and I think we deserved it over all. We had to put a couple of subs on going down to ten and they`ve come on and given their all.

‘After a patchy start we grew into the game and looked dangerous on the attack. And you`ve seen the challenges in the box to protect the goal and the tackles. I can`t praise them enough. They are a genuine bunch and they are enjoying it and I`ve told them I want them to enjoy the next seven games as well. It`s a great dressing room at the minute.

‘All derbies are special and this was no different. We aren`t in their league regarding stature but we`re in their league regarding heart and desire and passion and that`s what`s important.

‘It was a tremendous atmosphere and the fans deserve a lot of credit today. They kept us going when we were down to ten men. And I thought the Leeds fans were a credit to them too.`
