Rotherham United Manager Neil Warnock fell to his only home defeat of the season this afternoon as the rather lethargic Millers were defeated by Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking to Rob Staton of Radio Sheffield after the one-nil defeat the Millers Boss said, ‘I was actually disappointed in the preparation before today`s game.

‘I know there was nothing at stake but the lads were having photographs taken and giving autographs before the game which meant we didn`t get the warm up we should have.

‘Then we get punished after seven minutes which costs us the game and the goal was a poor one. It`s the first we`ve conceded from a set-piece since I`ve been here and it was Sunday School football. They know who was at fault and that I expected better from them.’

It could have been different because the Millers did have chances. One in particular from Leon Best who probably is still wondering how he managed to miss.

‘He said someone jumped in front of him and for a split second he lost it. It was a great cross in and he really should have finished it.

‘Because we were losing we had to do twice as much work and work twice as hard. But I can`t moan too much at them.`

Asked about Lee Camp who was given the Man of the Match by the sponsors at the New York today, the Gaffer said, ‘It was an average performance I think for him today. I thought young Grant Ward did well today and Matt Derbyshire looked dangerous when he was on. Though I thought we were sluggish in midfield but Frecks (Lee Frecklington) and Richie Smallwood have worked hard since I`ve come in so maybe they ran out of steam today.

I was disappointed because I thought it was a great opportunity to keep the good run going. I don`t like losing any game.`

Finishing on the lap of honour the players and staff did after the game today, Neil said, ‘I`m glad they cleared the pitch so we could do that. It was great for the lads to go round with their families.`
