Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told Radio Sheffield that he doesn’t really know why it hasn’t worked out for Jonson Clarke-Harris with the Millers.

Brought in September 2014 as the then club record fee signing, Jono wasn’t really the prolific scorer that the Millers needed. He fell down the pecking order, spent time out on loan, had a bad injury which kept him out for most of last season and, if we are being truthful, often frustrated Rotherham fans.

Yesterday, in the last hour of the January window, Jono went out on loan to Coventry City until the end of the season – and probably beyond.

‘Probably his level of performances haven’t been proficient enough to keep him in the team,’ said Warney. ‘Sometimes it’s like that.

‘Maybe you’ve been at a club for sometime and it hasn’t worked and you need to move on.

‘In fairness to Jono he’s got all the tools and I wish him all the best at Coventry.’
