Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told David Beddows of The Rotherham Advertiser that he is trying to re-build the club ‘in a good way.’

‘I’m trying to start next season in a completely different format,’ Warney said after the news that mobile ‘phones would be banned from the training ground and day-to-day rules toughened up.

‘I am strong on discipline and I will be shaking things up as well as trying to get a different working environment and mentality compared to recent seasons.

‘The rules for the players will be a lot tougher and the training a lot harder. I’m going to try and make them more resilient and the staff I bring in will play a big part in that. Come the first day of pre-season the lads will be under no illusions what is expected of them.

‘I will be incorporating a few more sessions in the afternoon and get a little bit back to basics in the whole preparation and training of the team.

‘I will be trying to get players in who buy into that and the work ethic and lifestyle.’
