Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that he can see similarities with his side now to the side that former Millers Manager Steve Evans got out of League One into the Championship.

‘I think any team that gets promoted you can compare to another team that’s got promoted,’ the Millers Boss told iFOLLOW, ‘obviously teams who get promoted are the teams who win the games and score the goals.

‘Revs (Alex Revell) was a big part of that other promotion side and this season we’ve had Kieffer (Moore) and now Smudge (Michael Smith) and they are both energetic sides.’

There might be similarities between the two sides but I don’t think Warney and Big Steve are anything alike. Steve Evans is an excitable character and that’s great for him – who can ever forget him running down the touchline trying to keep his trousers up at Wembley. Paul Warne might not do the shouting and screaming that Evans did when he was in charge of the Millers but he has a lot of respect from the players in other things he does. And how many times have we heard since he took over a new player say ‘I came because of Paul Warne’ or ‘Paul Warne sold it to me’?
