Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that he thought central defender Michael Ihiekwe was probably the star man in Saturday’s goalless draw with Wigan at the weekend.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Gillingham the Millers Boss said, ‘Ikie was arguably one of our better players at the start of the season. He had a bit of a dip in form but his attitude has been excellent. He’s trained really well and looked after himself.
‘At Bristol Rovers both him and Shaun (Cummings) came out of the team and then the lads went on that amazing run and there was no reason to change it.
‘He performed really well against an amazing striker on Saturday and worked well with Woody (Richard Wood). We’re really pleased with him.
‘Everyone is going to get a chance sooner or later and you’ve got to be ready when the opportunity comes.’
