Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that Richie Towell has played a massive part so far this season.

Got in on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion on deadline day, the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield, ‘I think him and Will (Vaulks) in the middle are playing really well and they’ve got a good relationship.

‘Richie is a real leader and has been a good driving force for us out there.’

Asked about the clubs recruitment, Warney said, ‘Jamie (Johnson) is our head of recruitment and he gets me lists and we go through them to work out the best ones for us and only invest who we think will have a good impact.

‘We go a lot on personality and physical ability, possibly more than technical ability. Luckily, we’ve got a group of really good people who want to improve, want to learn the game and these are the people we want to coach.’

To say Paul Warne hasn’t been doing this job for long I think he’s probably brought in a better group of players, with the character he wants, than any other Millers manager has for some time.
