Rotherham United’s stand-in Manager Paul Warne had nothing but praise for Goalkeeper Lewis Price after he kept a clean sheet against QPR this afternoon.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Warney said, ‘Pricey (Lewis Price) has been excellent and been Campy’s (Lee Camp) number two all season and, mentally, I don’t know how ‘keepers do that. And he’s trained really well all the time.

‘He made a great save first half with his feet and another in the second half which could have turned the game one way or the other.

‘I’m well aware of the run we’ve been on and how emotionally fragile the players might be but I thought there was a bit more resilience about them today and, although it might sound a bit arrogant, I didn’t feel we were going to concede.

‘The back five were excellent too and they defended like men. I regard Lee Frecklington as my Manager on the pitch.

Talking about the missed chances this afternoon – and there were a few like Danny Ward hitting the post and balls going over the bar and Joe Newell’s miss and Warney said, ‘I think that makes it more entertaining. It’s like going to the panto and knowing the ending before you start, you don’t want that do you, you want to be tickled a bit, and, in that respect, I think it’s good value for money.

‘And it’s the joy of football. You turn up and pay your money and one week it might be an horrendous game and another week it might be pure entertainment. And if you’ve paid your money and been today then I think you’ll go home and think you’ve invested your money wisely.’
