Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says he ‘liked what he saw’ of defender Shaun Cummings and offered him a deal.

The Millers invited Cummings to train with them with Warney telling the Official Site, ‘I liked what I saw, we need to get him fitter obviously but he will play a part going forward.

‘He’s done well in training and the fact that he was willing to come up and just train with nothing on the table initially was testament to his character.

‘I had seen him play, I just needed to know if he would fit in here and he’s slotted into the club well.

‘He is experienced at this level and he has played higher and played a good chunk of games with Millwall last season so he knows the league and what is required to be successful.

‘We will work with him to get his fitness up, and then he’ll be in a position to compete for a place.’
