Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne denied that he has a discipline issue ahead of the Cup clash with Crewe this weekend.

Warney will be without defender Joe Mattock who got his second red card of the season last Saturday against Gillingham with the Millers Boss telling Radio Sheffield, ‘Joe apologised to everyone after the game, I then told him what I thought and now he’s got to move on.

‘Joe’s been brilliant for me and I was a bit disappointed in him. I’ve watched it back and it wasn’t as severe as I thought at the time but I still think a player of his experience should just walk away. But, I say that and I’ve done it once so I can’t be a hypocrite.’

There are a few other Rotherham players on four yellow cards but Warney said, ‘I don’t think I’ve got a discipline issue, I just think my lads are pretty committed.

‘Michael Ihiekwe is a centre-half and has played more minutes than any other player so there’s no surprise he picks up bookings. Darren Potter is competitive and I’d be amazed if anyone said he was dirty or ill-disciplined.

‘The way referee’s give out bookings these days you can get them for just going cross-eyed so it doesn’t surprise me that my lads have picked up bookings.

‘As long as they aren’t stupid bookings they’ll have my support.’

Top scorer Kieffer Moore has four bookings with Will Vaulks having just served a suspension after getting six bookings this season.
