Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne said he was very proud of the lads after the three-two win on Boxing Day.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Warney said, ‘I’m well proud of the team.

‘They’ve been training well and are a positive group of players. Back to back wins at home is a good achievement. We set out to win all our home games and send them out very positive.

‘I knew how important this game was and I sent them out revved up and I got all the players families to send video clips in wishing them well.

‘I thought, in the first half, it was the best football I’d seen here for a while and I thought we deservedly went three-up, and it could have been more.

‘It was a different game in the second half and they threw the kitchen sink at us. They’ve got some quality and their two finishes well there was no way my ‘keeper was saving them. And then you could feel how edgy it got with the fans, the players and myself so to get over the finishing line three-two I’m a very proud man.

‘It was an exciting game and end to end but to me it felt tense. We hit the bar a couple of times, they had a goal disallowed and there were loads of corners and free-kicks. They had a lot of the play in the second half but my defenders defended well and limited them to two shots outside the box.

‘It’s a happy changing room.’
