Rotherham United’s Caretaker Boss Paul Warne says that he would like ‘a leader of men’ as the next Manager of the Millers.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the interim Boss said, ‘I’m not on the selection committee but for me I’d like a leader of men, someone who is prepared to criticise players which the players might not like. But I’ve had two meetings with them already and I’ve told them a couple of things I’m not happy with.

‘I’d want someone who is a good human being which might sound a bit romantic but it’s the truth. When I played and played for someone who was a good human being and football bloke I’d run through walls for him. If I didn’t like him and he treated us with disrespect it might just have been half a per cent different but it would have made a big difference.

‘So I personally want someone whose straight talking, honest and hard working and someone who wants to play football in the way that I think Rotherham fans want to see.

‘It will be a hard find. But I’m not stupid enough to sit here and name you a Manager who I think should come in and then another Manager comes in.

‘The club have got to take their time and find the right man. It’s not a knee-jerk reaction with the Chairman trusting me and the other staff who are helping me to try and get the season started.

‘I’ve told the lads if they win tomorrow I’ll cry. I do get emotional because it means a lot.’
