Rotherham United’s Caretaker Manager Paul Warne says he is ready for the January transfer window.

‘I’ve got to try and produce a team in the January transfer window that can stay up,’ Warney told Joe Cawthorn of The Rotherham Advertiser. ‘I’ve only been in the role three or four weeks and I didn’t think I’d still be there going into the window.

‘But even though the window hasn’t opened yet deals are falling into place. What I’d really like in the team is pace and I want to feel I can change the team with something different.

‘And I possibly want another striking option, but everyone is looking for that so it won’t be easy.

‘I want good people, good men at the club. I’m not interested in people who moan. Whoever we sign I want to go and meet the player myself and look him in the eye. I’m a pretty good judge of character so I’ll go and meet him and if I don’t get a good feeling I’ll pull out of it. I want to make sure people come here because they want to come.’
