Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that it’s unfortunate for Matty Palmer that his central pair are doing so well.

He really can’t leave Richie Towell and Will Vaulks out as they are at the heart of the team, getting forward when needed, running back when needed as well as watching each others backs.

Speaking to iFOLLOW Warney said, ‘I haven’t brought Matt Palmer here just to be a spectator but he has to appreciate that the two in front of him are doing excellent.

‘They (Towell and Vaulks) are both real winners, both really competitive, both good on the ball and really have a desire to win.

‘I can hear them in the dressing rooms before the game and at half-time saying similar things to what we are going to say and they get the game which is crucial.

‘I like them to go forwards but I think Richie is a bit more balanced of the two. Will plays like he’s fourteen and as soon as he gets anywhere near the penalty area he’s got to shoot, which isn’t a criticism. Richie tidies up a lot more but he’s got ridiculous energy.

‘At the moment they are the heart and soul of this team at the moment and I don’t think there can be many better duo’s in the league.’
