With their being a strong indication that EFL clubs are in favour of changing the transfer window rules, meaning it will shut earlier, Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne thinks it could be a good idea.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Warney said, ‘I think it’s great news for managers.

‘I got most of my business done pretty early this season so it will probably suit me and I’m lead to believe that the window will shut earlier but you could possible have loans for a bit longer.

‘It might also be better for the players because clubs might get a bit more generous with their offers to get deals through.

‘Realistically a lot of players at this level are loans so I don’t know what massive effect it will have on us, if any, although it could mean the glorious time of having May as downtime might be gone.’
