Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that new boy Caolan Lavery is still playing catch-up.

The twenty-five year old joined the Millers at the end of January on loan until the end of the season from neighbours Sheffield United making his Rotherham debut against Wimbledon last Saturday coming off the bench.

Speaking to iFOLLOW, Warney said, ‘I don’t think he trained as much in his last couple of weeks with Sheff U so he’s still a little bit off in his match fitness.

‘But I thought he came on last week and did really well. I’m hoping he’ll play a part again this weekend then another weeks training although nothing can beat match play.

‘The lads are doing so well that it’s difficult him getting on the pitch but he will get his chance, whether it be this game, next game or later. But as long as we can get him as near to match fitness as we can we’ll be pleased.

‘In my opinion he’s a typical Rotherham player. He’s a good age, wants to work hard, wants to score goals and is a good athlete.’
