Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne is resigned to the fact that he will be losing top scorer Kieffer Moore in January.

‘It’s obvious he’s going back (to Ipswich),’ Warney told iFOLLOW, ‘and I think they will play him.

‘That’s great for Kieffer. He came here to prove a point and to get himself in the team. I still think his future could lie here and when he does go back I’ll thank him for his efforts and tell him I hope to see him really soon.

‘We are doing everything possible we can to replace him and the staff are now watching a game each a day looking at a certain striker we want. But they are big shoes to fill and it’s a big ask.

‘It’s easier to recruit strikers in the summer because some are coming to the end of their contract but whichever striker we sign in January, whether it be loan or permanent, is in contract with their club.

‘It might be that we bring in a striker with a different skill set to play with the likes of Bally (David Ball), Jerry (Yates) and Jono (Jonson Clarke-Harris) which means we will be playing a different system and we might have to adapt.

‘There isn’t many six feet four inches, hard working, good with their feet, good in the air strikers out there.’
