Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne thought his side to get something from their home game against Plymouth Argyle despite going one down with just eight minutes remaining on the clock.

Speaking after the one-all draw, the Millers Boss told iFOLLOW, ‘I thought we were excellent today.

‘We had eighteen attempts at goal so the fact that we came away with a point is disappointing but the effort the lads put in was phenomenal. And I know I’m biased but despite being down to ten men for around forty minutes I thought we were the better side in the second half too.

‘It’s easy to say how great the team are when we’ve won and when we lose I have to try and put a positive spin on it but I thought we showed real character today. I thought it was disappointing we didn’t win it.

‘They came to frustrate us and sit behind the ball so we told the lads at half-time to try and move the ball a little bit quicker but when we went down to ten men it gave them a bit of impetus and they had a lot more of the ball.

‘There’s a lot of positives to take from this game – on another day we might have lost it and on another day we might have won it. So, overall, frustrated not to win but chuffed with a point.’

Going on to talk about Semi Ajayi‘s late equaliser for the Millers, Warney said, ‘I was really pleased for Semi because he had been a bit of a threat from set-pieces and the goal itself wasn`t easy. I thought he was really good today.’
