RUFC – View From The Opposition – Scunthorpe

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne can’t have been anything but delighted after guiding his team to Wembley last night although he did admit it hadn’t quite sunk it while also saying he felt for Dawsy (Nick Daws).

Dawsy himself was obviously disappointed after the two-nil loss at the New York Stadium and spoke to Scunthorpe’s Official Site saying,’I am disappointed, but not in the attitude and commitment from the players because that was outstanding.

‘We created chances in the second-half, but not enough in the first-half. We conceded a poor goal just before half-time with seconds to spare, which was a bit of a kick in the teeth for us.

‘We created a number of good opportunities in the second half but our final pass, final cross and final shot unfortunately were not quite ruthless enough.

‘I thought Rotherham defended really well, they’re solid, organised and they are strong.

‘The supporters were superb. They were noisy and I thought we gave them something to cheer about. I feel sorry and sad for them.’
