Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott was disappointed that his team couldn’t hold on to their two-nil lead last night, saying that they ‘played too deep’ in the second half.

But, Northampton Town Manager, Gary Johnson praised his teams fightback. Speaking to Radio Northampton after the game Johnson said, ‘The club showed a bit of character coming back from two-nil down but our first half was poor.

‘We put Rotherham under tremendous pressure in the second half and we upped the commitment, the passion and the running and the challenges and we got braver in the second half.

‘I can’t tell you what I said to them at half-time, because this isn’t going out after ten o’clock! But, I was disappointed with a few of them when a couple of them froze and I didn’t think enough of them were brave enough and it was men against boys in the first half. I told them that and I was angry myself and I got them fired up.

‘The first half showed why they have been down at the bottom of the league all season but the second half showed that there is a spirit and a character in that dressing room.’
