Rotherham United Manager Neil Warnock couldn’t have been more pleased to get the three points against his former side on Saturday but still warned that the Millers still aren’t safe.

Leeds United Manager Steve Evans was back at the New York Stadium and received a standing ovation from his former fans before the game, but admits to being shocked when the Millers got the last minute winner.

Speaking after Saturday’s game to Leeds’ Official Site the Leeds Boss said, ‘I don’t have a lot to say.

‘We were by far the better team in the first half then we don’t track a runner and concede a goal. At half-time we told the players to just keep playing how they were and after fifteen minutes we changed it to try and get some width in the game and cause Rotherham another problem. Then they go down to ten and I don’t know how we’ve lost the game.

‘We got the goal back which was slightly fortuitous with the deflection but their goal led a charmed life and I don’t think anyone in the ground thought anyone one else but Leeds United would get a goal. Then you make a huge mistake. But even after that we had one or two chances.’

Asked about the two red cards in the game, Evans said, ‘Matt Derbyshire’s is certainly a red he went up with his elbows although he’s not a player like that. I don’t know if it’s a penalty all I saw was the mistake by Pepe (Bellusci) and Danny Ward goes to ground which he’s good at.

‘It’s a cruel game. We were totally dominant and we should be going away from here with a draw and even that would have been harsh.’

Just a footnote – It was actually Lee Frecklington who was felled by the Leeds goalie, not Danny Ward for the penalty.
