Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne said he was hugely proud of his teams performance last night against Premier League side Huddersfield Town.

Meanwhile Terriers Manager David Wagner told Huddersfield’s Official Site that he was happy that his side had progressed into the next round.

Speaking after Town’s two-one win, Wagner said, ‘We gave ourselves a mountain to climb after conceding a very early goal but the group reacted excellently and we scored two wonderful goals.

‘We were very focused and created moments and created chances but, unfortunately, we didn’t hit the target often enough.

‘We were in a little bit of trouble in the last fifteen minutes of the game when Joel Coleman made three excellent saves and kept us in the game.’

Excellent performance against premiership opposition.Gave them a real fight and fright, always wonderful to watch the underdogs perform so well especially so with such a gulf in leagues. It’s also pleasing to see a side such as Huddersfield in the top flight,it gives hope that others can do similar with hard work, good management and investors who will back their manager.

Just something I’ve seen with the Millers over the years that they always ‘up the game’ against higher clubs. Not a bad thing to do and gives us a bit of recognition. Thanks for your input Le Hane
