Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was highly delighted with the way his team fought to hang on to a one-nil win over Exeter City on Saturday taking them to seventh place in League Two.
And, although they lost at home, City Manager Paul Tisdale said he had no criticism of his players’ commitment.
Speaking to Radio Devon the Grecians Manager said, ‘I loved the game today even though it was a disappointing result.
‘On the back of the last week or two the players had a real purpose about them, although we haven’t learnt the lesson that when we concede first it becomes hard to score. I really liked the way you could see the players were totally committed today and full of purpose.
‘It was a terrific game of football and the referee did really well and Rotherham worked really hard and certainly made it a game.
‘Well done to the ground staff who provided us with such a fantastic pitch.’
