Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne was disappointed
not to take last night’s Checkatrade Trophy tie with Chesterfield to at least penalties despite him saying his side didn’t

Meanwhile, new Spireites Manager Jack Lester told Chesterfield’s
Official Site that ‘everyone played their part.’

Speaking after an eighty-ninth minute goal by Jak McCourt gave the visitors at the New York Stadium a two-one win, Lester said, ‘It was an excellent battling performance and we were better on the fifty-fifty balls.

‘When Rotherham got back to one-one at home who are a league above us the team got themselves together which was excellent.

‘We knew it was going to be a tough night against a team who are going for the League One play-offs but everybody played their part, even the substitutes.

‘We battled well and I am proud of them.’
