Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans came away from Friday’s game at St Andrew’s fuming about a(nother) referee and a poor decision that cost his side a penalty.

Birmingham City Manager Gary Rowett has gone on record as saying he doesn’t believe it should have been a penalty saying it was just a ‘tangle of legs’.

Speaking after the home side’s two-one win, the City Boss told their Official Site, ‘Rotherham had a little bit of the ball early on but the half an hour before half-time was as well as we’ve played. Some of the movement and controlled possession was excellent and some of our interchange was very, very good and we probably should have been more than two-up.

‘But we’ve got to learn that a forty-five performance isn’t enough. One or two of their strikers caused us a problem and we allowed balls to bounce and pin us in a little bit and we didn`t show the relevant game management to change that.

‘Late on in the game we showed some really good composure with the build up play and had five or six very good chances and we should have got a couple more goals for the finish.’
