Rotherham United`s Assistant Manager Paul Raynor has told MillersPlayer that it looks like the expected transfer of what was to be a club ‘record bid` has fallen through.

‘We were led to believe that the club the player was coming from had got a replacement but they haven`t been able to push that deal through so it looks unlikely that that player will be coming to us. But we were always aware that if they couldn’t get the replacement the deal would fall through which is a disappointment.

‘There is a lesser deal out there that we are hoping to push through. The Gaffer is speaking to the Chairman now and speaking to agents and seeing if we can push that one through.`

Asked about any players going out, Rayns said, ‘There might be one we allow out to get some game time but it`s not absolutely necessary that happens but we do feel that there is one player in the squad who might benefit from some game time elsewhere.`
