Rotherham United defender Dale Tonge can`t wait to get back playing, after spending all pre-season and the start of this season on the sidelines.

The former Barnsley player damaged an Achilles in the final game of last season at Don Valley and told Paul Rickett of The Advertiser that it`s been ‘torture` sitting in the stands at the new stadium not being able to play.

‘I`ve been through plenty of things with this club,` the twenty-seven year old said, ‘Administration, not getting paid, Millmoor and Don Valley and then I get injured before we came to the New York Stadium which is the most frustrating time I`ve ever had.`

Tongey has had problems with his Achilles for some time but says that he is hopefully on the mend now and played for over an hour in the Reserve game on Wednesday evening.

‘It`s a case of getting a few games under my belt and then challenging for the first team. I can`t wait to play at the new ground.`
