Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans is hoping that shock wave treatment will see defender Dale Tonge fit and well sooner rather than later.

Tongey hasn’t kicked a ball since May due to an Achilles problem started back in training this week.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, the Millers Boss said, ‘Tongey will be a couple of weeks before he’s in full training and then he will be available to possibly go out on loan and there will be clubs desperate to take him because he’s a good player.

‘We’re hoping the shock wave treatment he’s had on his Achilles works because if it doesn’t then there’s a real problem because it really is almost the last stage in treatment he can have. This treatment is very innovative and I know a number of our Olympians have had this type of treatment and it has an eighty-two per cent success rate and we need him to be in that eighty-two per cent.’
