Rotherham United’s Dale Tonge thinks the League Two table will start to take shape around Christmas and that the Millers will be near the top.

He told the Advertiser, ‘We are a tight unit all way through the team. We are settling in and getting to know each others game and we are learning quickly.’

Tonge, who’s grandparents are season ticket holders at Millmoor, has been getting praise from fans and the manager over his performances for the team.

He said he is not taking too much notice of league tables at the moment but is quietly confident. ‘All we can do is keep turning out good performances,’ he said.

‘We were disappointed to give away two goals at Stockport but it was good to go there and get a point. If we keep picking up points away from home then our home performances should see us through.

‘I am enjoying my football here and it’s good having two commanding players like Graham Coughlan and Ian Sharps alongside.

‘We want to go straight back up and we’re looking good. But it is early days yet.’
