The Administrator, Jeremy Bleazard, put a deadline of 5pm today for any formal bids to reach him to buy Rotherham United. And, Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas, says there has been quite a lot of interest this week.
‘I’ll be surprised if there aren’t any bids,’ Mr Douglas told The Advertiser
‘The level of debt here, in footballing terms, is not a frightening amount. There is a way of running this club at negligible losses, if any at all. And, with the vision for a new community stadium here in a few years time there can’t be a cheaper club out there with better prospects.’
The consortium headed by Dino Maccio and Alan Cartledge have said they will be putting in a bid and it is understood that another bid will be entered by a group of former Millers benefactors.
