Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was thwarted today as he tried to strengthen his Millers squad for the final push of the season.

The Millers Boss has asked about Rory Donnelly a young striker from Swansea, striker Nouha Dicko of Wigan and Ashley Grimes a striker/midfielder of Rochdale.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Steve said, ‘We thought something might happen with Rory but Huw Jenkins thinks he has a part to play at the Liberty Stadium. We’ve been told that Dicko of Wigan has decided to join Wolves on loan. We’ve been keeping tabs on these guys for over a year and Dicko has been top class for Wigan Reserves.

‘We’ve tried eight or nine times to get an agreement with Rochdale over Ashley Grimes but it just became too much for us. But to be fair to the people at Rochdale they never conducted themselves other than very professionally. I’d have loved to work with young Grimesy but it just didn’t happen.’

However the Millers have bolstered their defence by signing Joe Skarz from Bury.
