Rotherham United winger Jon Taylor says that the Millers game plan on Easter Monday was to stop Reading scoring.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the two-one defeat the twenty-four year old said, ‘We defended for most of the game. But they are fourth in the league and we are away from home so that’s what we’ve got to do. It was disappointing to concede but we are still proud because we thought we’d done well.

‘I wasn’t surprised when we went in front because I thought we’d done really well in the first half and kept our shape well. For the goal it was a good ball from Wardy (Danny Ward) and Carlton (Morris) should have scored but Tom (Adeyemi) scored. We know if we get the ball out wide Tom Adeyemi is always running in the box. I thought we defended well and deserved to go in one-nil up.

‘Reading are a passing team so it was always going to mean a lot of running for us defending but I thought we did really well. I think we just switched off a bit in the second half and little mistakes cost us the two goals.

‘I thought our tactics were spot-on today and we took everything on board that we’d done in training and what the Gaffer wanted us to do. We worked hard throughout the game but those little bits of switching off cost us.

‘We know we’re relegated but we’ve just had to get over it and everyone is working hard. We all want to do well for the club and the Manager for next year. We’ve let everyone down this season. All the fans still travelling to the games it would be disgusting if we just didn’t work hard and try and put on a performance for them.’
