Rotherham United fans were hoping to hear better news ahead of the weekend regarding Jon Taylor and Darren Potter.

Jon Taylor hasn’t played since he damaged his knee in Rotherham’s draw with Doncaster Rovers in November while Darren Potter limped out of the game away at Bristol Rovers in the first week of December after less than twenty-five minutes with an Achilles injury, in what has been a hit-and-miss start to his Millers career.

Hoping they will both be back for Christmas Millers Assistant Manager Richie Barker told FREEVIEW that neither would make it for this weekend’s game against Plymouth.

‘If we can get Jon Taylor back for Christmas he will be a big part for us with all the games we’ve got over the period.

‘With Darren when he was first injured we were thinking of him having a couple of weeks rest. Well that’s up now so we’ve got to see where we are going to go with it. Ideally we’d like him involved over Christmas but we’ll see where we are next week.’

Hopefully both skipper Lee Frecklington and Joe Newell will be recovered enough to play some part at the weekend.
