Rotherham United’s Jason Taylor seemed to find what the management, and the fans, have been wanting from him last Saturday, as he had his best game in a Millers shirt in the win over Macclesfield.

Speaking to The Advertiser after that win, Taylor said, ‘When I first spoke to Rotherham they sounded ambitious and that’s what sold the club to me. They have a bit of money behind them and hopefully the financial troubles are in the past and we can now kick on. Yes, there have been a few bad results lately – results we feel we should have turned round in our favour – but we bounced back last week and it was nice to get that win.

‘I’m confident in the players here. At Stockport, at twenty-one, I was one of the more experienced! Here, we have more seasoned pros and sometimes you need wise heads and experience in there.

‘I moved here to progress my career and I’ve settled in really well. The aim is to get as many points as we can this season and then get up next year.’
