Rotherham United defender James Tavernier says that he is a better player since he joined the Millers on loan from Newcastle in November.

Speaking to The Advertiser in their Wembley Special Pull-Out the twenty-two year old said, ‘Before I signed I told Steve Evans that I was looking for games week-in week-out and he’s given me that and my game is getting better and better. I’ve improved since I first came here, got more experience and I’m loving my football.’

With most Millers fans hoping that they can keep him, Tavs carried on, ‘Newcastle keep an eye on what I’m doing. I still have a year left on my contract there and I’m hoping to impress the Manager (Alan Pardew). After Wembley I will go back up there and think about my future.’

Speaking about Wembley Tavs said this would be his first time playing there, ‘I’ve been to watch a tournament but just to get on the pitch knowing thousands of fans are travelling down from Rotherham to support us will be a great experience.’

Here`s hoping it will be a brilliant day Tavs!

I, for one, would love to see the Millers keep James, whether for another season long loan or to buy.
