Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, has ordered his strikers (nay, anybody!) to shoot on sight after the Millers have only scored one league goal since October.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Robins said, ‘When we’re in a shooting position I want us to stop passing and shoot. There are goals in the team and I think it is only a matter of time before we start hitting the back of the net. Actually, I think people are making more of the lack of goals than there actually is. Every team will go through spells like this in a season. We’ve just got to be better in and around the opponents penalty area. The missing ingredient is getting into positions to score goals.

‘We’ve picked up just one point in our last four league games but it’s what we do from now on that counts. We need to pick up as many points as we can over the Christmas period and come out in a healthier position in the new year looking to climb the league.’

The Millers play Aldershot in the league tomorrow – a team who have already won at Don Valley this season in the FA Cup – and the only team in the league to beat top-of-the-table Wycombe.
