Rotherham United striker, Chris Holroyd is hoping to get his third promotion with Rotherham United.

The twenty-four year old striker, who joined the Millers this summer from Brighton and Hove Albion, was on loan with both Stevenage and Bury and helped them get promoted from League Two.

‘I wouldn`t have joined Rotherham United if I didn`t think we had a real chance of going up this year,` Holroyd told Dom Howson of The Star, ‘and it would be nice to make it a hat-trick.

‘It`s all about momentum in this league and there is real ambition here. We have got a great squad, a good manager so hopefully we will have a good season.`

Holroyd scored goals in the pre-season friendlies against Grimsby and Huddersfield and seems to have fitted in well with Adam Le Fondre and Lewis Grabban supporting up front and the Nantwich born striker thought it worked well with the three of them up there.

‘We have all got something different to offer,` he said. ‘It`s a nice balance and the main thing is we score goals.`

Talking about his move to the Millers, Holroyd said he spoke to Manager, Andy Scott and thought he could improve under him. ‘Andy is very organised and methodical in training and he wants to get everything right, which is what you need in a manager, and, as players, we need to go out on the pitch and feel confident and knowing our jobs.`

Chris began his senior career with Chester City before moving to Cambridge United and Brighton and spent loan spells with Stevenage and Bury last year.
