Rotherham United on-loan striker, Brett Williams played his first game yesterday for seven weeks, after having a thigh injury and going back to his parent club Reading for treatment.

Brett started the Reserve game at Stoke yesterday and afterwards speaking to MillersPlayer said, ‘To get those seventy minutes was a real positive for me.

‘I thought the overall the lads did well and I was surprised that we went two goals down straight away – and they were two sloppy goals.`

The reserves lost four-one yesterday afternoon but were up against a Stoke City side who had players like Uruguayan Diego Arismendi, Honduras International Wilson Palacios and Michael Tonge in the side.

Asked if what it was like playing against players of that calibre, Brett said, ‘At the end of the day they are Premiership players and when you are getting games against them it`s one to tell the grandkids! It`s good to see how you compare to them and on a personal level I thought I did alright and it`s good experience.

‘The thigh is fine and didn`t worry me at all. Now, it`s just getting my match fitness up and maybe try and get involved in the FA Cup. I`m glad to be back here and hopefully get the games that I need.`
