Rotherham United midfielder Richie Smallwood has gone out on a season long loan to Scunthorpe United.

The twenty-five year old joined the Millers from Middlesbrough, originally on loan in January 2014 when he soon became a first team regular and scored the winning penalty in the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley in the shoot-out with Leyton Orient.

After going back to Middlesbrough the Millers tried to sign him in during the following summer but their original bid was rejected before a bid of £175,000 was finally accepted on 22 August 2014.

RIchie has made ninety-two apperances for Rotherham, five of them this season, the last time being in our one-nil win over Brentford when he came off the bench for the second half.

All at Vital Rotherham wish Richie all the best with the Iron.
