Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, told six of his squad that they are now free agents yesterday.

Those released are stalwart Paul Hurst and Ian Ross who joined on a short term deal, and youngsters, Liam King, Natt Kerr, Simon Harrison and Sam Duncum.

Ian Sharps and Pablo Mills will be offered new contracts while one year contracts are to be offered to Jamie Yates, Saturday’s scorer Jamie Green and Ryan Taylor.

It is understood that Robins has already been on a couple of scouting missions and has sounded out Chris Brandon the former Chesterfield player who is out of contract with Huddersfield.

‘I’ve got a list of who I want,’ Robins told The Advertiser. ‘I’d hope to move quicker but the situation at the club didn’t let me.

Robins has praised his players for their contribution over the difficult season the club has been through and he said, ‘We’re all ready for a break. We need to gather our thoughts together and see what happens now.’
