Rotherham United have lost their skipper, Ian Sharps after he declined the offer of a new deal with the Millers.

Ian, twenty-nine, has been with the Millers since the summer of 2006 and has gone through administrations, point deduction and late payment of wages with the club.

He has signed a contract with Shrewsbury Town today with Rotherham Manager, Ronnie Moore telling the Official Site, ‘We offered him a good deal which would have made him the second highest paid player at the club. But, he has opted to move to Shrewsbury. It’s a little disappoining because he has had a good season for us.

‘Ian has been a good servant to the club and we wish him all the best.’

Vital Rotherham want to echo those words and thank Ian for all he has done for Rotherham United. And we wish him all the best in his future.
