Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott is hoping that the new stadium will help lure good players to the club.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after Johnny Mullins had signed a new two year deal with the Millers, Scott said, ‘We knew what a good player he was but was missing for the first part of the season but he came back and found his feet. Since he`s been back and been one hundred per cent match fit, he`s been outstanding.

‘Whoever he`s played with he affects them. He`s good in the air and organises well and he`s the type of player we want to build the club round.

‘Signing a new contract, this is the first one we can really say that the new stadium has attracted because I`m sure there would have been interest from other clubs in John but the ambitions here are a massive pull for him. He was out of contract at the end of the season and being over twenty-four he could have gone on a free transfer and it was important that we got him tied up before the summer. We believe it`s a good deal all round and anyone I`ve spoken to about centre-halves puts him in the top two or three in the league. I rate him higher than that. He can play at a much higher level and he`s signed here because he knows there is a good chance of him doing that.`
