Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that the ‘Alfie saga` is a major distraction at the moment.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star about the media interest in the bids for his top striker, Adam Le Fondre, Scott said, ‘It`s a major distraction but part and parcel of being a manager with good players.

‘All the speculation and talk detracts from the good start we`ve had to the season and the fact we have some good players here capable of good things. But it`s been all about Alf. He doesn`t want that, and he`s been absolutely first class through all this. He`s been kept aware of everything that`s going on and has no problem at all of how we have handled the situation. Through my time here he`s been totally professional.`

Asked if Alfie would still be a Miller tomorrow, Scott replied, ‘How long`s a piece of string?`
