Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that he is very pleased to get Danny Coid on loan from Blackpool.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, ‘We’ve made lots of phone calls trying to bring a right-back in and it’s been really, really tough so we are very pleased that Holly (Ian Holloway) at Blackpool has allowed him to come.

‘He’s a very experienced player who knows what the games about and he can attack and he can defend and he’s been very loyal to Blackpool.

Asked if the fact that Coid had had one or two injuries in the past worried him at all, Moore said, ‘No, not really. There isn’t a player alive who doesn’t pick up injuries. The big thing for me is that he’s fit and raring to go. ‘The good news is that John Mullins injury is probably only going to mean he’s out for a couple of weeks but Blackpool have allowed Danny to come and play and he can play in the FA Cup for us on Wednesday which is a big thing.

‘On our list of right-backs we had a lot of young players down the list but Danny was right on up there and he was actually the first one we enquired about although we enquired about others afterwards. It was half past ten last night when I got the phone call from Holly saying he was willing to let the boy out and it’s good that the boy wants to play. You know, he’s stepping down so it’s nice that he’s coming here and is going to get some games.

‘A big plus is that Premier league managers are letting their players out and they’ve seen that we are trying to play football in the right way so are encouraged to loan them out. It’s a shame that Mark Randall picked up that knock because he would have been massive for us but it’s good to have another Premiership player here and maybe we’ll get one or two more.

‘Danny is here for a month to start with but it can be extended and we’ll see how things go and take it from there.’
