Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore said he was disappointed that they hadn’t finished in fourth place after losing three-nil at Hereford today.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Moore said, ‘That certainly wasn`t us today. You didn`t see that coming, being a goal down after five minutes and it looked like they were all frightened to death of getting close to somebody and picking up an injury. I said to them at half-time, the way you are going you are going to play yourself out of the team for the play-offs. And, I think second half we had a little pop, we had one or two chances. But, the third goal we conceded, they have just come inside and our back four stayed where they are and the lads fired one in. It`s disappointing but I`m not going to slag them.

‘It was embarrassing at times how easy they got in behind us. But you hope that that is the performance that`s out of the way now and it takes us on, hopefully, for three more games.

‘There were some strong words at half-time and they knew it was unacceptable. They come out at the last game of the season at Hereford and give them two goals because the first two goals were gift-wrapped. We had one decent chance where Kev (Ellison) probably should have scored and if he scores then maybe it`s a different game. But, I think a lot of them had their minds on next week so let`s hope we can go and perform there.

‘It`s a worry that we aren`t scoring but if you don`t put the ball in the areas of the box then you aren`t going to score goals. But, there isn`t anything you can do about it, I can`t go and buy a striker now and throw him in. What we`ve got is what we`ve got. I mean, it might be a set play or a free kick or something like that actually wins the game.

‘I am disappointed that we`ve not finished fourth because that was the big thing for me.

‘Now, we need to pick the players up, get a bit of confidence in them, get in a full weeks training and go down to Aldershot and get the result we want.

‘It was disappointing for the fans and I apologise for the performance they`ve seen today and we will have to put that right at Aldershot. This is not the way we wanted to go into the play-offs and I feel for the seven hundred and odd fans that have come down and have had to witness it.’
