Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins told The Advertiser that his squad is ‘looking good.’

Speaking during the first week back after the summer break, Robins said, ‘All the players have stuck to their close season programmes and they are fitter than they were last season. The quality has gone up and I’m pleased with the squad.’

Which is more than he could say for the torrential rain we’ve had since the players returned. ‘The weather hasn’t helped,’ he said. ‘It’s usually red hot in pre-season but it’s hardly stopped raining.

‘We have a game with Mansfield next week which is behind closed doors and our first friendly is against Walsall next Saturday.

‘Everyone has impressed me so far. Rebuen Reid is working hard, which is what I expected from him and Tom Pope looks to be a quality signing.

‘We are going to make sure we are as ready as we can be when the season starts.’

The Millers first friendly against Walsall is on Saturday, 18th July at Don Valley and is a 3.00pm kick off.
