Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins says that he wants to thank Reuben Reid as it looks like he is on his way to a club in a higher division.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Robins said, ‘Reuben didn’t want to stay and thought he would be better served at a higher level and you can’t stand in the way of ambition. How much we will miss him remains to be seen but I want to thank him for what he’s done for us and I’m sure the supporters do too.’

Meanwhile, Robins has offered a month’s deal to Andy Lidell saying, ‘Liddell has done enough to show he can play some part in games for us and make a difference so he deserves this deal.’

Wayne Gray is on trial after being released by Leyton Orient at the end of last season. The twenty-eight year old suffered an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury early last season only returning to the side in March. ‘Lots of players have come back from this sort of injury,’ Robins said, ‘and Gray is in my thoughts.’ The striker looked like he’d scored a goal in the 3-1 win over York in mid-week, but it was later given as an own goal. He is expected to feature in tomorrow’s friendly against a Manchester City XI at Don Valley.
