Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, said he was embarrassed with his teams performance today.

The Millers lost 4-1 to Rochdale at Spotland with a hat-trick from substitute Chris Dagnall rubbing salt into the wound.

Robins told the Official Site, ‘We’ve just said goodbye to the play offs. The best team has won and we got what we deserved – we looked like we are a soft centre and they wanted it more than us.

‘At one up we looked in control and then they scored and we were still looking at a draw. But when Dagnall came on we just couldn’t cope with his pace.

‘The last fifteen minutes were very poor and the atmosphere in the changing room is very quiet.

‘No matter what is going on at the club that was embarrassing to watch today. It has got to be different for the last games because I am not prepared to watch that for much longer. Today we showed we can’t cope with the challenge against the sides that are pushing for promotion.

‘All the things around the club at the moment are negative and it’s easy to get sucked in with people feeling sorry for themselves. But, we have to be strong mentally and I am going to have a good look at things before the next game.’
