Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, was pleased to see his team get back to winning ways yesterday evening in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy against Mansfield Town.

After the one-nil win he told the Official Site, ‘I thought we played some decent stuff at times.

‘Mansfield put up a good fight and threw things at us and had some chances of their own but we dealt with it comfortably.

‘We might have had a penalty and we could have gone on and won by a bigger margin, but on the whole I thought it was a fair result.

‘We played a different formation and there were one or two good things to come from it.

‘It gave Sam Duncum a chance and showed how versatile Dale Tonge is filling in in midfield. It gives us another string to our bow.

‘I put Marc Newsham and Ryan Taylor up alongside Derek Holmes and there was some pleasing play but there is always room for improvement.’

Goal scorer, Ian Sharps, went off with a hamstring problem and Robins said, ‘we took him off as a precaution and we have to wait and see how he is.’
